fresh off NVIDIAs stellar earnings report and subsequent stock rally, its CEO Jensen Huang is predicting that the world is entering a “new computing era”.
He says that one can become a programmer just by talking to the computer, and the desired functions will emerge.

Programmers would no longer need to write lines of code, only for it to display the dreaded “failed to compile” due to a missing semicolon.
How will this be done? by generative artificial intelligence, Huang said during his keynote speech at the Computex Forum in Taiwan on Monday.
In his first public speech since the pandemic, Huang introduced the DGX GH200, a new AI supercomputer platform aimed at building generative AI models.
Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence technology that can produce a wide variety of content, including text, imagery, audio, and synthetic data.
“This computer doesn’t care how you program it, it will try to understand what you mean, because it has an incredibly large language model capability,” Huang said. And so the programming barrier is incredibly low. “
“We have closed the digital divide. Everyone is a programmer. Now, all you have to do is tell the computer something.”
Nvidia says that generative AI is “the most important computing platform of our generation” as individuals and companies move to build new apps and leverage on generative AI in the process.
The company said that creative professionals will be able to create images with a simple text prompt, while programmers can accelerate application development and debugging efforts. Even architects can generate 3D models from 2D floor plans.
“In every single era of computing, you can do different things that weren’t possible before,” Huang said.
He explained that this computing era is “special in many ways”.
The CEO said that generative AI is capable of understanding information other than just text and numbers. “It can now understand multimodality, which is why this computing revolution can affect every industry,” he said.
Unlike traditional models of computer application development, which require new applications and new hardware to accommodate advances such as AI, Huang said generative AI will be able to influence not only new applications, but also enhance old ones. .
“Every existing application will be better because of AI… It can be successful with old applications. And there are going to be new applications. The rate of progress, because it’s so easy to use, is why it’s growing so fast.” growing from.”
