
Hollywood Vampires is rescheduling a handful of US concerts as Johnny Depp recovers from an ankle fracture.
The rock supergroup – which includes Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen – revealed the actor’s injury on Instagram on Monday (May 29) and announced new dates for three East Coast shows originally scheduled for were scheduled for this week.
Hollywood Vampires wrote in the post, “After recent appearances Johnny has suffered a painful ankle injury and has been advised not to travel by his doctor.”
The band said that Depp is “devastated by this turn of events, but eager to rest so that all four Vampires can do their best to tour Europe.”
upcoming concerts in Boston; Manchester, NH and Bethel, NY will now take place on July 28, 29 and 30, respectively. All tickets for the new dates will be honored.
Hollywood Vampires will begin their overseas tour on June 8 at Romexpo in Bucharest, Romania, followed by dates in Europe and the United Kingdom through the end of July.
Depp also shared an update on his ankle injury in a post on his Instagram Story on Monday (May 29).
Depp wrote in his letter, referring to the Cannes Film Festival and a tribute concert to Jeff Beck, “It started out as a hairline break, but somewhere between Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall, it got better instead and Got even worse.” “Multiple medical professionals have strongly suggested that I avoid any and all activity at this time and therefore I am unable to travel at this time.”
