if you’re 20 or so hours in tears of the kingdom And you don’t have Autobuild on, you’re doing it wrong.

Last week, there was a tweet going around asking whether now tears of the kingdomA few weeks out, what advice would you like to give? Lots of people have left valuable nuggets of information like fusing rubies to your equipment that can keep you warm during the Rito quest-line (just, you know, don’t fuse them to anything wooden). Another good piece of advice: use more climbing! Are you already using Ascendant? Great! Use it 1,000 percent more!
I shared that until your Pura Pad’s power wheel is complete, you’re not done with the tutorial, Emphasizing that Autobuild is an easy-to-miss but life-changing capability. My mentions were flooded with people saying, “Wait… what? What is autobuild?”
What is autobuild?
autobuild is a tears of the kingdom Capability that is essentially a 3D printer for Link’s Ultrahand. It stores your builds, allowing you to quickly remake anything you’ve built recently, if you have the materials handy, or if you don’t, it replaces them with parts of Zonite. Will make at cost.
What can you build with Autobuild?
Autobuild will only store a few of your most recent builds, deleting them as you create more content. But you can create favorite builds, so you can remake them whenever you want. This is handy if you need to build a quick utility like a two-fan hoverbike or a quick battle robot.
As you progress through the depths, you’ll occasionally run into objects called schema stones. They are either found within Yiga clan strongholds or left out of Steward constructions and are essentially blueprints for all kinds of machines. Schema Stone blueprints cover a wide range of useful tools and are stored permanently in Autobuild’s memory, so you don’t need to worry about deleting them.
How do you use autobuild?
Autobuild works in two ways: It automatically builds something from the components you source, or it builds them at cost. For example, if you’re trying to build a Fanplane and you have three Zonai Fan Machines and a Glider available, Autobuild will build the plane. If you don’t have any of those components, Autobuild will still make the plane, but you’ll have to pay for any missing items with Zonite.
I would recommend sourcing your own materials for autobuild creations as much as possible, as making things from Zonite alone can be quite expensive. Also, anything built with autobuild from Zonite will have a green texture, and critically, it cannot be removed from the device. For example, if you create something with the control stick and try to move that control stick to something else, it will disappear.
how to get autobuild
Autobuild can be obtained immediately after arriving on Hyrule from Sky Sanctuary. Once Link reaches Lookout Landing, talk to Robbie and Josha to start exploring the camera work in the depths. This quest will introduce Link to the underground region of Hyrule known as the Depths and add camera functions to the Purah Pad.
once with him and back on the surface, talk to Josh again to return to the depths to get another quest! This is the search that will give you the autobuild. Essentially, she’ll tell you to follow the direction the statue you photographed in the previous quest is pointing. This will take you to the Great Abandoned Central Mine. there you will meet an old enemy for the first time breath of the wild, Once that fight is done, a Steward build will give you the Autobuild ability and teach you how to use it.
,Comment: I’ve heard conflicting reports about when Josh’s second quest will be available. From what I can remember from my playthrough, I was able to move quickly from camera quest to autobuild quest. Ahead, You don’t need any quest to get autobuild, Enter the Deep from the Hyrule Field Chasm and head southwest to the Great Abandoned Central Mine. Once there, you’ll start the chain of events necessary to get the ability.)
as much as i enjoy tears of the kingdom, the game does a poor job of guiding you when you’re still new to the game. In particular, the autobuild ability – one of the best time and life savers in your toolkit – is easily missed because the game lets you off the leash before you even get to it, giving players 20-30 hours before Goes deep they realize something is missing. Hopefully, this handy guide will prevent future adventurers from getting lost.
