Ice Spice joins Taylor Swift for ‘Karma’ remix live debut on Billboard Eras Tour

less than a day after releasing the expanded new version of her Billboard 200-topping album Midnight, Taylor Swift took the stage at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for the first of three sold-out shows at the venue on Friday (May 26). In addition to a three-hour set filled with massive hits and beloved deep cuts (which fans have come to expect on her blockbuster Eras Tour), Swift brought a surprise guest who helped bring the night to a raucous close.

Ice Spice, who features on the remix of Kismet Bop’s “Karma” Midnight’s (Til Dawn Version), Swift came out at the end of the night to perform her verse.

The “Princess Diana” rapper made a royal entrance, emerging onto the stage from below. Ice and Swift walked around the stage holding hands, the rapper confidently tousling her hair after delivering his verse. After the confetti fell at the end of the concert, the pair put their arms around each other. Spice — who grew up in the Bronx right across the Hudson River — looked confident and in command as she played to the biggest crowd of her burgeoning career.

Earlier in the night, Swift surprised the crowd with the premiere of the cinematic music video for the remix, and as she introduced the visuals, she explained how the collab with Ice came together.

Swift said, “Early in the year, when I was just starting to train for this tour, I was contacted by Ice Spice.” “She reached out and said, ‘If you ever want to do a collab, I’d love to.’ And she didn’t know at the time that when I was training for the tour, I was just listening to her music every day. All day. … So I said, ‘Sure, when can we?’ So we immediately went into the studio and I not only fell in love with him, but I decided he was my whole future. … I’ve been around so many artists and so many artists just starting out, but I’ve never been able to meet someone like that. I’ve never been around an artist who is so ready and inquisitive and focused on what he wants.

Before dropping the “Karma” remix, Swift praised Ice Spice’s artistry: “I’m a huge fan of this amazing artist and knowing her I can confirm: she’s one to watch.”

spice covered Board Magazine talked about her rapid rise to fame over the past two years and more earlier this month. “Right now, I’m focusing on the music,” she said Board, To be honest, I am still learning a lot. But I’m so glad I put in that time and that work – because it’s paying off.

Swift played two more dates at MetLife Stadium as part of her Eras Tour, which Billboard Boxscore reports is the best-selling tour of her career.
