Harry Styles cracked a dirty, lol-worthy joke on social media Wednesday, referencing one of One Direction’s biggest hits.
In an Instagram Story, the heartthrob posed oh-so-innocently next to a turquoise and gray portable toilet that posted a cheeky sign reading “Best Shlong Ever” in all-caps letters. Dressed in a bright teal and pink running suit and framing her face with her hands, the pop star smiled widely at a mischievous reference to her former band’s 2013 single “Best Song Ever.”
Although the snap has expired, thankfully it was captured by a fan account, who immediately shared it on Twitter and received reactions from dozens of Harry’s fans. One wrote, “He needs to be stopped.” Another declared, “It’s hilarious,” while a third joked, “It’s a family show.”
Released in July 2013, the meta “Best Song Ever” served as the lead single from Harry and the Gang’s third album. Memories of Midnight as well as a precursor to his documentary concert film one direction this is us, In the song’s music video, which was attached to the theatrical release of the film and was co-written by James Corden, each of the 1D Boys played dual roles as themselves and another character from the film studio – Marcel with Styles. The Marketing Guy and Zayn Malik flirt with Veronica the Sexy Assistant.
The song bowed at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 upon release and was followed by fellow singles “Story of My Life,” “Midnight Memories” and “You and I” in the album cycle.
