The new leader follows six-week winner “Tacones Rojos”, which is Journey’s longest-leading track on the list (two weeks at No. 1 in January, the prior four weeks at No. 1 in February–March of 2022).
According to Luminet, “Una Noche Sin Pensar” reached No. 1 in the rankings with a 20% increase in audience impressions in its 13th week, earning 10.2 million in the US for the week ending May 18. It sent Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG” to No. 2 after a four-week charge.
With the new winner, Journey improves his career Latin pop airplay No. 1s to eight, and enters a tie with Chayenne for eighth-most No. 1s among Latin pop male acts, surpassing the total by Enrique Iglesias. 25 since the chart’s debut in 1994. At 13 weeks, “Una Noche” is tied for the second longest journey to the summit among its eight reigning champions. In June 2020 “TBT” with Rau Alejandro and Manuel Turizo also required 13 weeks on the way to a three-week takeover. ,
Beyond her Latin pop airplay coronation, “Una Noche” climbed from No. 6 to her new No. 3 on Latin Airplay, Journey’s highest ranking since “Tacones Rojos” put her in the penthouse for one week in February 2022.
Shakira’s ‘acrostico’ lands: Elsewhere on Latin pop airplay, Shakira scored her 41st top 10 position at number 6 with “Acrostico”. The intimate piano ballad, which features vocals by her sons Milan and Sasha, was released through Sony Music Latin on May 11, along with a lyric video. According to Luminet, the track generated 2.6 million audience impressions after its first tracking week.
With 41 top 10s to her chart account, Shakira remains third among all acts, behind only Enrique Iglesias, who has 45 top 10s, and Ricky Martin, who has 42.
In addition, “Acrostico” also debuted on the Billboard charts: No. 11 on Billboard Global Exclusive. US, No. 13 on the Global 200, No. 16 on the Multi-Metric Hot Latin Songs chart, No. 39 on Latin Airplay and No. 84 on the Billboard Hot 100.
